a real time magnetic saturation model
  DSP Module

A VHDL-implementation of my magnetic hysteresis model is used to add saturation effects to audio signals in real time making it possible to emulate magnetic tapes and side effects of coils and transformers in analog audio signal paths. The model runs with surprisingly low resource usage and has full coverage of the typical effects though. It shows a deviation of less than 5% from the measured behavior of classical ferromagnetic materials, as described here: modified Jiles Atherton Model
